The card was issued in honor of Defender of the Fatherland Day (February 23, 2021).

The holiday is celebrated in Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan. Since 1922, it was known as “Red Army Day”. In 1946, the name was changed to “Soviet Army Day”, and from 1949 to 1992, the holiday was known as “Soviet Army and Navy Day”.

In modern Russia, the holiday was renamed “Defender of the Fatherland Day” and became an official public holiday. Despite the changes in name, the tradition of honoring servicemen and veterans has been preserved. Today, this day is also considered a holiday for all men, regardless of their involvement in military service.
